What you can expect, and what we promise.

The agreement

Using looka means you accept what is on this page. If you don't, don't use it. Where this page talks about what we do with your data, the privacy policy is the detail.

What looka is

looka reads a trading card off your camera and shows what cards like it have sold for across public marketplaces. It's a search tool pointed at other people's listings. It's not a grading service, not an appraisal service, and not a party to any sale you make.

Prices are information, not advice

Every figure on looka is read from public listings and computed from them. It can be wrong, and it can be out of date, for reasons that are not in our hands.

• The card may have been identified incorrectly, including its variant.
• A marketplace may be slow, down, or may have changed what it publishes.
• Condition, grading, authenticity and shipping all move a real price and none of them are visible to a camera.

Decide what to buy or sell for yourself. We aren't responsible for a trade that went badly because of a number you saw here.

The free tier, and Pro

Scanning is free, with a daily cap on how many scans one visitor can run. That cap, and what else the free tier includes, may change: it's set by what the underlying services cost us, and we'll change it rather than quietly degrade the product. Pro isn't open yet. The price shown on the pricing page is a sample and isn't an offer; joining the waitlist costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Your account

An account is yours and is meant for one person. Don't use looka to break the law, to scrape it in bulk, to resell what it returns as your own service, or in a way that degrades it for anyone else. We may suspend or close an account that does, and we'll say why unless there's a reason we can't. You can close your account at any time by writing to deep@desquaredp.com; closing it deletes the scans attached to it.

No affiliation

looka is independent. We aren't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by eBay, TCGplayer, Cardmarket, Goldin, PWCC, The Pokemon Company, Nintendo, Wizards of the Coast, or any other marketplace or game publisher. Card names, set names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used to describe what is being looked up.

Provided as is

looka is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or available at any particular moment, and we may change or withdraw any part of it. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, arising from your use of looka.

Changes to these terms

We'll change the date at the top when these terms change, and tell anyone signed in by email when the change matters. Carrying on using looka after that is how you accept the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and its courts are where any dispute about them is heard. Anything else you want to raise first goes to deep@desquaredp.com, which is usually faster.
